OUR STORY

The Funk Palace was built on the belief that art has the power to transform the way we see ourselves. Every vision, no matter how big or small, deserves the care, collaboration, and craftsmanship required to bring it to life. We are honored each time someone chooses to share their story with us. Because in the end, it’s never just about the tattoo— it’s about creating a meaningful experience you’ll carry with you forever.

WHERE IT STARTED

THE ORIGIN STORY

What started in a deep passion for photography, capturing meaningful moments, naturally evolved into something deeper.

02.

why we created this space

More than a studio

We didn’t build The Funk Palace to be just another tattoo shop.

We created space where people feel comfortable walking in, sharing their ideas, and leaving with confidence in who they are.

A place where creativity lives

A place where everyone is welcome.

A place where experiences become permanent.

Our Visoin

Looking Funkin’ Ahead

The Funk Palace will continue to grow as a creative space for our community — A place where people gather, create, and express themselves freely.

Frequently asked Questions

The Funk Palace is centrally located in the heart of Hesperia, CA.

The art studio address is 15664 Main St. Suite 240, Hesperia, CA 92345

We’re an appointment-based studio, so our time is dedicated fully to each client we create with. Instead of set hours, we invite you in through a free consultation. That way, we can meet, connect, and start creating your next masterpiece together.

Every masterpiece is different, so pricing varies based on the artist, size, and style of your tattoo. During your free consultation, we’ll talk through your vision and give you a personalized estimate.

If you decide to cancel your session, the retainer is non-refundable. We understand life happens beyond our control sometimes and may need to reschedule. Your appointment can be rescheduled and your deposit can be transferred one time with 14 days’ advanced notice.

Come as you are, and bring whatever you need to feel at ease: headphones, a book, a blanket, or anything that helps you stay comfortable during your session.

Absolutely. Currently, the art studio is fit for each guest getting tattooed to bring only (1) guest with them.

Unfortunately, we only tattoo guests who are 18 years old or older with a government issued ID for proof of age.

We accept any valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID—such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport.

Placement isn’t ever set in stone until you give us the final okay. Trust us when we say we’ll work with you (happily, I might add) to find what feels right, with our artists offering their professional guidance along the way. Small tweaks can be made before the stencil goes on, but bigger changes or full redesigns may need a reschedule so your piece gets the time it deserves.

Let’s be funkin’ real, every tattoo hurts. Some describe that pain as a “sunburn” feeling while you’re getting tattooed.

Every artist in the studio has a light hand which indicates an “almost” pain-free and a very comfortable experience while you’re in our tattoo chair.

1. Wash your new tattoo with antibacterial dial gold soap or non-scented soap.
2. Apply non-scented lotion such as, Lubriderm lotion or tattoo balm to help keep your new tattoo moisturized.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the next 2-4 weeks (morning and night) until your tattoo is fully healed.

Every masterpiece takes its own time. Some sessions may be an hour, while others can be a full day (up to 8 hours) or even multiple sessions to fully bring your vision to life. Your artist will guide you with an estimated timeline.

We are truly honored you’re making the journey out to our little desert oasis to get funky with us!

Here are the closest airports to my studio, listed by distance:

Ontario International Airport (ONT) — approximately 45 minutes

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) — approximately 1 hour 30 minutes

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – approximately 1 hour 45 minutes

All of the artists at the studio use second skin to best protect your freshly new tattoo from all the outside elements. However, we are well aware of some guests having sensitive skin and/or reactions to the second skin. We can happily apply the Saran Wrap method before the leave the studio.

We recommend at least a minimum of 3 days to a maximum of up to 7 days with your second skin.

Leaving the second skin on will protect your tattoo from unwanted outdoor elements giving you a stress free healing experience.

Please treat your new tattoo like you would with any open wound. Meaning, no oceans, pools, lakes, spas/steam rooms, sun exposure, pet hair/dander.

We do everything on our part to ensure your tattoo leaves our palace in the most pristine condition. By meeting us in the middle and doing your part will ensure a healthy healing experience every step of the way.

You can usually get back to your routine the next day, depending on where you were tattooed. Give that area some space and train opposing muscle groups and let your body recover.

If you’re sweating a lot, remove your second skin wrap after your workout, wash with antibacterial soap, and lightly moisturize to keep your tattoo clean and cared for.
